Overview

Accountability for Water is a new programme of action and research. It will help ensure that stronger accountability fulfils its potential to accelerate delivery of the water SDGs by building up usable, applied evidence for what works, where and why.

Focus countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, but open to participation and research fellows from other countries.

Programme origins:

Developed over several years through workshops and collaborations of stakeholders across the water sector in each country. The research is relevant and important to organisations working to improve water security.

Programme delivery:

Professional Research Fellowships ensure that the skills developed, as well as the research findings, remain as a legacy within the sector and shape the future of water accountability.

Evidence Review explored the existing research landscape. Visit our knowledge platform to explore the database of existing evidence on accountability for water.

Oversight:

The Accountability for Water Global Advisory Group is a dynamic group of partners who want to bring about systemic improvements in water security. They guide and support programme delivery and demand accountability from partners.

Engagement:

Ensuring relevance, uptake and legacy are central to this work. Those who will use the research findings must be involved from the beginning. Please get in touch to participate in the programme.
